Situated in the western part of Serbia, the ‘golden mountain' of Zlatibor has been a beloved nature retreat for generations. Its cool mountain climate, clean air, long summer days and heavy winter snows, along with its position on major transportation routes connecting Serbia and Montenegro, make it an ideal getaway in any season.

In the central village resort of Partizanske Vode there are well-developed tourist facilities, modern hotels, restaurants and conference halls for corporate retreats. The areas around Zlatibor offer ample opportunity for sightseeing, including collecting of medicinal herbs and wild mushrooms the area is famous for, visits to hidden mountain monasteries and quaint villages, and hikes to tall peaks, past waterfalls and through dense forests.

Close by there is the famed ethno-village of Sirogojno and Drvengrad which is creation of world-renowned film director Emir Kusturica. The Vrnjacka spa is the largest contemporary health spa resort in Serbia and is an attractive center for both holidays and recreation set at the foot of Mt.Goc (1,147 meters above sea level). Its stunning location provides a unique microclimate, which has led to the development of lush landscaped grounds providing an oasis of tranquillity and beauty for guests to enjoy and relax.

Steeped in history, the beneficial effects of the Vrnjacka spa springs have been known since the beginning of the Christianity. Today, some of its past still remains including a Roman Bath dating back to the second century. In modern Serbia, Baron Herder upgraded the Vrnjacka spa in 1835 following orders from Prince Milos who wanted the spa to be on a par with the renowned Karlovy Vary spa in the Czech Republic and in 1860, the first pool and apartment was opened.

Vrnjacka spa is home to six rich hot and cold-water mineral springs, which are rich in natural minerals used for rejuvenating both the body and soul. It is also home to the world's only hot spring measuring exactly that of the human body (36.5 degrees Celsius). Accommodating up to 8,000 guests at any one time in a range of hotels, villas and apartments, Vrnjacka spa is one of the largest resort spas to be found in Europe. Despite its size, the spa resort offers guests a high degree of peace and seclusion. Surrounding Vrnjacka spa are UNESCO protected medieval buildings, which serve as a reminder to early European civilisation. Other nearby landmarks include the first court of the Serbian Archbishop, the Zica Monastery and the beautifully frescoed Sopocani Monastery which both date back to the thirteenth century and the twelfth century Studenica Monastery all of which are nestled in the colourful Ibar River Valley. Lying eastwards the area is home to the fourteenth century Ljubostinja Monastery which housed the tombs of Princess Milica and one of the first Serbian poetess, Jelena, while going southwards one reaches the Gradac Monastery which was an endowment of Queen Helen of Anjou, wife of King Uros 1, dating back to the thirteenth century.

Entertainment is plentiful at Vrnjacka Banja Spa with a host of things to do catering for everyone. A key feature are the gardens which in the summer play host to the 'Culture Fortress', a summer stage, cinema, bandstand, art galleries and many sporting activities. During the summer guests are entertained by numerous concerts, theatre performances, poetry evenings and exhibitions.

Curative Factors: The Vrnjacka Banja Spa has five springs, which are divided into two categories of medicinal mineral waters: Hot (36.5 degrees Celsius), carbon-acidic homoiothermal and Cold (14-27 degrees Celsius), alkaline, earth alkaline and carbon-acidic.

Sokobanja is located in southeastern Serbia, between the Ozren and Rtanj mountains, on the banks of the Moravica river. It lies 400 m above sea-level and is 230 km from Belgrade. The natural therapeutic factors in Sokobanja are the thermal mineral springs (with temperatures ranging from 28 to 45.5°C), which are used for bathing and inhalation, and the moderate continental climate characterised by favourable atmospheric pressure, moderate rainfall, little fog and a few windy days, a high concentration of oxygen, ozone and negative ions in the air and an absence of air pollution.

The Library in Sokobanja has existed for over 130 years and has over 30,000 books and an international centre for tourism and ecological documentation. The Heritage Museum houses archaeological, ethnological and historical items. In front of the museum there is an amphitheatre which is used during summer to stage theatre productions and literary evenings.

A wide variety of sporting, cultural and tourist events are held in Sokobanja throughout the year, including the First Accordion of Sokobanja, the International Ecological Cartoon Biennale, Sokograd Art Colony, the Golden Hands of Sokobanja, Saint Jovan Biljober and Spa Summer of Culture among others.

During summer, guests can bathe at managed bathing sites on the Moravica river, Bovansko Jezero lake and the artificial lake in the Moravica Klisura gorge, which are also ideal for fishing.

Sokobanja’s guests also have the chance to go hunting, as well as go on specialised hunting trips such as camera safari, picking medicinal plants and hunting combined with a stay in an old mountain lodge.

Kopaonik (also known as the Silver Mountain) is the highest mountain range in Serbia, which stretches from northwest to southeast with the length of about 75 km, reaching, in the central part, the width of about 40 km.

One its part is the protected zone under the name National Park Kopaonik in which there are a number of protected natural units, and it is the largest ski resort in Serbia.

Its highest peak is the 2017m called Pančić peak which houses the mausoleum of the famous Serbian naturalist after whom the peak is named, about which there is a military base in Serbia. Entire range was named after the great mineral resources, which it is exploited since the Middle Ages, and at its wider area there is a series of cultural and historical monuments dating from the XII to XV century.

Thanks to a developed tourist center with modern hotels and related facilities, Kopaonik is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Serbia.
